Gomadare sesame and dashi sauce is a popular dip alongside shabu shabu – Japanese hot pot. Shabu shabu is often served with thinly sliced beef, vegetables or seafood which is cooked in boiling water. 

This thick and creamy sauce is made with white sesame seeds. The seeds are crushed with traditional dashi – made with kombu seaweed and bonito.

Use this versatile sauce as a dressing for crisp green leaves and steamed vegetables. Or make it into a marinade for roasted meat and fish. Or try it as a satay-style seasoning for skewers of glazed chicken.
