Slap Ya Mama ‘hot’ Cajun seasoning is the authentic taste of Louisiana with a hotter chilli kick. Serve up spicy Cajun king prawns with a citrus mayo dip, or give your gumbo extra zing. Add some Cajun heat to eggs, vegetables, chicken, and even popcorn! 

The extra hot Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning was made by family request. The Walker family’s Uncle Dugas was a fan of all things fiery, but the original Slap Ya Mama seasoning didn’t quite satisfy his chilli craving. So the Walkers upped the Cajun red chilli in their next blend, and it didn’t disappoint. The original seasoning has a slow-building heat, but this one really slaps your taste buds!

Slap Ya Mama certified Cajun seasonings get rave reviews from all over the world. Their secret? Less salt, more spice!

The Slap Ya Mama story began in Ville Platte, Louisiana in 1956. Wilda Marie Fontenot Walker gave birth to Anthony – the creator of this now-famous Cajun seasoning brand. He wanted a proper Cajun seasoning that gave big flavour without being too salty. Whenever Wilda cooks with it, she receives a loving slap on the back – hence ‘Slap Ya Mama’ – and a kiss to thank her for another great Cajun meal. At least, that’s the story the Walker family told curious visitors to their deli!
