This green tea tastes like a buttery madeleine. It’s an irresistible creation from French tea company, Mariage Frères.

Madeleines are small sponge cakes with a light, sweet flavour. They are baked in special moulds to give them their distinctive shell shape.

To recreate their taste, Mariage Frères infuses green tea with marigold and vanilla. The result is a mellow brew with sweet, cake-like flavours.

The Heritage Gourmand collection is inspired by French desserts and patisserie. Other flavours include macaron, tarte tatin and mousse au chocolat. Presented in colourful canisters, these teas are a delightful teatime treat.

For best results, steep the tea in 95°C water for four minutes.
