ABC+ mackerel fillets are canned in garlic-infused olive oil. They are a tribute to the Italian pasta recipe, aglio e olio. Eat the tender fillets straight from the tin or toss them with spaghetti for a quick supper. 

ABC+ mackerel is caught off the coast of Portugal. The fillets are carefully deboned and packed by hand. The rich, garlicky oil is a great match for the mild, briny fish. ABC+ adds parsley and a squeeze of lemon for an authentic Mediterranean flavour.

Tinned mackerel is extremely versatile. You can add it to salads or spoon the fillets over cooked grains. It’s a tasty addition to fried rice with a splash of soy sauce.

Try serving mackerel on toasted bread with chopped herbs and sliced red onion. Pickles will cut through the richness of the oily fish. You can also mix the fillets with mashed potato to make fish cakes.

About ABC+:

ABC+ is the newest addition to the José Gourmet family. This Portuguese food brand specialises in tinned fish and seafood. The company pays fair trade prices for sustainably caught fish in Spain and Portugal. Their canned fish, or conservas, are renowned for their quality and flavour.
